I have not tried any of the advanced features such as connecting to the internet or installing motion detectors or alarms yet.
One problem I see is that the fan on the monitor/drive is quite loud. It is loud enough that you wouldn't want to keep the monitor in your bedroom. Perhaps the unit is more suited to a business application.
I think the quality of picture delivered from the cameras is decent.

Not a product for the average person. It is way too hard to operate and not enought advantages. I can not set the time on the unit because it tells me to stop the recording first. Well, it is stopped and it still won't change the time. Tech support refuses to answer the phone. Wait time is up to an hour at which time I give up. I can not save the video to anything since the message is it doesn't understand what is connected. I have tried a thumb drive (flash) and a Maxor hard drive. Neither work. I have no hope of getting it to work through the internet since directions are frustrating and incomplete.
I do not recommend this product for anyone.
